How We Began...
In 1939 a railroad siding in North Eastern Lancaster County was the
setting for an entrepreneur by the name of Walter Binkley to begin his
family business.
A feed and fertilizer store and fledgling tractor dealership was begun.
Then years later, David Binkley, Walter's only son, joined into the
business which became known as Walter Binkley & Son. The J.I. Case
Farm & Industrial lines were eventually added to the Huber Tractor
line which was already in place.
In 1973 two young neighbors, Leonard Hurst and Amos Hurst, Jr.,
employees of David Binkley, were afforded the opportunity of investing
in the business and the company name, Binkley & Hurst Brothers,
Inc. was adopted.
The feed and fertilizer business abandoned, the new company of eleven
employees focused their resources on excellence in the agricultural
equipment field.
In the thirty ensuing years, Binkley & Hurst Brothers has
evolved into a workforce of nearly seventy employees committed to supply and
service the agricultural equipment needs of eastern Pennsylvania and the
surrounding area.
